DO I NEED EXPERIENCE TO JOIN A CLUB?

No. Our clubs strive to cater to all levels of participation and skill. Some clubs may have competitive traveling squads in addition to members that simply wish to practice.

DO I NEED A PHYSICAL IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE?

No, the University does not require a medical exam or physical for participation in club sports. It is each participant’s responsibility to ascertain whether they are sufficiently physically fit to participate.

DO I HAVE TO TRY-OUT AND/OR TRAVEL WITH THE CLUB?

No! While some clubs may host tryouts for the travel squad or have a process for determining playing time during competitions, they are not permitted to cut interested students from the club. Please contact us.

WHAT DOES IT COST TO PARTICIPATE?

Member dues vary from club to club. The easiest way to find out about an individual club’s dues is to contact that club directly.  To find out a club’s contact information, visit our club directory.

ARE CLUB SPORTS COMPETITIVE, RECREATIONAL, OR INSTRUCTIONAL?

With nearly 40 different clubs, club sports collectively offer a little of each. Some Clubs are only instructional, recreational, or competitive while others have a combination of these elements. Please contact the specific club to inquire about it level of instruction, recreation or competition.

DO I HAVE TO HAVE MY OWN EQUIPMENT TO JOIN A CLUB?

Equipment requirements vary by sport. Some clubs may have equipment available, while other clubs may require you to bring your own. Contact a club officer directly or visit the club website for more information.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?

The time commitment varies by Club and is established to meet the needs of its membership. Most Clubs may only practice 2 or 3 times a week, for about 1 ½ to 2 hours each session. Depending on the structure of the Club, there may be additional commitments for travel and competition, fundraising, or community service. Please contact the specific club to inquire about it level of time commitment.
