The Tasar class is moving ahead in leaps and bounds at the moment. The recent tough economic times have not been able to dampen the growth of the class or the enthusiasm of the competitors.

The current World Titles being held in Japan at Wakayama Sept 18^th to 27^nd will have 78 competitors, which is a terrific fleet for Japanese waters. 

There will be a host of excellent Japanese sailors from across Japan competing with a healthy dose of Australian Competitors and American and Canadian competitors.  The conditions look to be relatively light which will suit the lighter 130 – 140 Kg crews. Make sure you book mark the website http://www.tasarworlds.sakura.ne.jp/ and keep an eye on the results.  The Japanese Tasar Association have already posted a great photo slide show of Tasar sailing in these waters. 

The World Masters Games present another exciting Tasar event.  Tasars were selected as the 2 person dinghy for the games due to the ease in which they can be sailed.  Without a spinnaker or a Trapeze the boat is simple to sail, yet provides exciting fun racing to all age levels, a perfect choice. This choice was given a resounding vote of confidence with almost 100 crews nominating for the event.  The field for this series is Hot to say the least, the list of competitors reads as a who’s who of sailing.

The Sailing will be held in Sydney harbour in Rose Bay, Woollahra Sailing Club, it is going to be a yachting spectacular on the Harbour with big fleets also from the Laser and Hobie Cat classes.  You will be able to follow all of the results at www.woollahrasailingclub.org.au
