The NT Sailing Championship, sponsored by Yachting NT, was conducted off the shores of the Darwin Sailing Club in Fannie Bay over the long weekend 23-25^th July. There was a strong fleet of Tasars – 7 in total.

On the first day, Race 1 & 2 were raced in very pleasant 18 knots. The wind, however, increased with each subsequent race, with only two Tasars finishing Race 9 in gusts over 30 knots, whilst the rest of the fleet had retired due to a range of calamities (near sinking, broken diamond, lost pole, etc)

Lachlan Heath and Carmen Walker (Shifty) sailed consistently well and took the No. 1 trophy for the 2^nd year running, whilst Sean Hackett & Fiona McManus (Humdinger) narrowly pulled off 2^nd place against John & Jenny Simondson (Bogey Boat) who took out 3^rd place.
