Where to Find Tasars in NSW
The below clubs all have there own club based programs. Club reports will be included as they become available (last updated 28 October 2011). If you have a club report, or would like to talk about hosting a TT next year get in touch with the committee.
The TANSW Traveller's Trophy (TT) events and Metro Series are sailed at a range of clubs throughout the season and combine to form one series. This is a great way to see other Tasar clubs around NSW and not only race and learn from each other, but enjoy the social aspect of the Tasar class as well. For more information on the TANSW TT events click here.
Saturday
- Balmoral
- Jervis Bay
There are currently two boats sailing on the beautiful waters of Jervis Bay, although the members are just as likely to be off racing at TT events. Racing kicks of at 1.30pm. If you feel the need to get out of Sydney, visitors are always welcome! - Nic Douglass - Speers Point
- Concord Ryde
Concord currently has nine Tasars sailing on a Saturday, with a few other interested in joining the class. Racing kicks of at 2pm. We will be hosting a TT on 3rd December after a few years off. Be great to see you there! - John Bombel - Queens Lake
- Dobroyd Aquatic Club
Sunday
- Woollahra
Summer Pointscore racing commences at 2pm each Sunday and typically three short races are being sailed, with triangles where possible. It is $10 entry fee for visitors. A reminder that the club is licensed and any visitors are welcome to come and join us for a beer on the balcony after racing. Only one of the best views in Sydney! I have a weekly e-newsletter "WSC - Tasar News" that keeps all members up-to-date. If you would like to subscribe contact the TANSW and they will put you in touch. - Brad Stephens - Port Macquarie
- Northbridge
There are currently 14 Tasars sailing at this club, however numbers have been down with recent weather. Over three quarters of the fleet turned out for the first Club Championship this season in over 30 knots. Always a heart stopper at the start of the season! Sailing is from 2pm, but will move to 2.30pm at the end of November. Come join us! - Anne Muller - Canberra
There are currently three boats currently sailing in Canberra. The wind so far this season has been fantastic and all are looking forward to the ACT Dinghy Champs this weekend. There are nine NS14's at the club that race with the Tasars, so there is always someone to race on Lake Burley Griffin! Racing is on Sundays at 2pm or Wednesdays at 6pm. - Angela Cumming - Kogarah Bay
With four boats on the way back from the World Championships it has been a slow start to the 2011-12 season. KBSC should have an average of six boats racing most Sundays this year. We kick off at 2pm every week and visitors are welcome to join us any time. - Trevor Hilleard - Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club
- Georges River Sailing Club
At GRSC we have four committed boats, and three further are looking at joining. We have good racing with clean air on a beautiful sandy beach to rig. We also have four NS14's which are handicapped almost the same as Tasars, which provides great competition. Our start time is 12.30pm. We start early so we are off the water before the 16 footers. - Andrew Finney
