Tasar Fast Facts
Fast Facts

The Tasar is a two person sailing dinghy designed to offer exciting one design racing.
The Tasar easily planes in moderate conditions and is handled with relative ease in winds up to 25 knots. The boat was specifically designed for husband/wife or parent/teenage crews for terrific togetherness sailing.
The Tasar is an international class with large fleets in Australia, U.S.A., Canada, Europe and Japan. The Tasar is Approx 5 Metres long and 80Kg’s fully rigged, it is easily towed on a trailer to sailing venues everywhere. Often if travelling long distances 2 boats can be carried on the same trailer with a minimum of fuss.
The Tasar rig has recently been redesigned to utilise modern sail technology and materials, which has resulted in the introduction of Mylar sails. The new Mylar sails give the boat a modern look as well as improved performance and visibility. The new Mylar sails automatically adjust themselves to the prevailing wind strengths, which makes the competition very even across the fleet.
You certainly have to be a very good sailor to get to the front in a Tasar fleet.
The typical Tasar crew demographic is dual income professional couples between 25 and 65 years of age. Anyone and everyone can enjoy sailing a Tasar.
