Victorians dominate NSW State Championships

The NSW States finished up on Sunday at the Illawarra Yacht Club.

Nine races were completed over the 3 days of racing, with all competitors commenting about the quality of the venue and the people at the Yacht Club.

The conditions for the final day were challenging with the Nor West to Nor East breeze creating plenty of opportunities to pass.

The Victorians dominated the top[ 5 final placings. Paul and Bronwyn Ridgway took the Championship in the final heat from Heather McFarlane and Chris Payne. Third was Al Murray sailing with Darren Eger and then Pete Ellis and Charlotte Berbeck. All four boats sail from Sandringham Yacht Club in Melbourne.

RPA Training, TT and Metro racing - 26 February 2012

What a wonderful turn out at RPA on 26th February. For a non-Tasar club they are a very friendly bunch.

18 Tasars raced in TT3 and Metro 1. The conditions were tricky to say the least with the Nor'east gradient wind doing it's own thing as it came over the hill into Pittwater.

There were plenty of crews that went from the Penthouse to the Outhouse, but all enjoyed great racing. Brad Stephens and Clare Woods showed they are a real force, winning the first race comfortably. They then fought through the fleet to win the second race as well. Results for the full season so far are available here.

Racing was preceeded by our first Association sponsored coaching session. Ten boats took part and enjoyed a good warm up under the eyes of Simon Reffold. Simon took extensive notes throughout the day and has given each boat their own feedback during the week.

The next session on 11 March will be even bigger and better. For more information on the coaching click here.

Email me if you are interested.

The final TT and Metro races will be sailed on 17 and 18 March at Balmoral and Kogarah. This is your last chance to get tickets in the jib draw for this season! Further information is availabe here.
